Minnesota Broken Arm Injury Lawyer

Arm fractures and other arm injuries occur in a number of different accidents. Most breaks and fractures occur during a slip and fall accident or an accident that causes a direct hit to the arm such as a car accident. If you are in a crash on your bicycle, you could also be facing an arm injury.

Furthermore, many boating accidents will result in a broken arm. You could also fracture your arm in a work related injury, especially if you fall from a building or roof. In some instances, such as after a serious burn or due to a severe infection, you could be facing an arm amputation. Regardless of how the injury occurred, you are most likely looking at months of specialist visits, examination and surgery and recovery. If you have suffered an arm injury due to someone else’s negligence, then contact McEwen & Kestner, PLLC to see how we can help.

Arm Fracture Injuries

The forearm is made up of two main bones – the ulna and the radius. If either of these bones is fractured, you are most likely looking at intensive surgery to correct the problem. There are a number of different arm fractures that you could be dealing with after an accident or trauma directly to the arm including the following:

  • Barton’s Fracture – the upper edge of the radium and the joint surface
  • Smith’s Fracture – the end of the radium towards the palm
  • Hutchinson Fracture – an isolated fracture of the radial bone
  • Colles Fracture – a direct break across both the radius and the ulna. This is the most common wrist break and results in the complete twist of the arm in relation to the wrist.

In addition to the forearm injuries, it is also possible to fracture the humerus, the upper part of the arm, as well as the elbow.

Elbow Injuries

In addition to a broken ulna or radius, you may also have hurt your elbow. An elbow fracture, ulnar nerve injury or broken elbow can occur after a direct blow to the arm. This can interfere with your ability to bend your arm, to straighten your arm and to rotate your arm. In addition to extreme pain at the sight, symptoms of a broken elbow may include swelling, deformity, a popping or clicking sound, discoloration, numbness or tingling and change in color.

Our injury attorney will seek compensation for damages
