Knee Trauma Accidents

A knee injury can happen anytime, anywhere. However, some of the common accidents that result in a knee injury include the following:

  • Car and truck accidents that cause a heavy and sudden impact to the knee
  • Sporting injuries that result due to someone’s obvious negligence
  • Premise liability and slip and fall accidents
  • Work-related accidents
  • Defective product and product liability cases
  • Boating and other recreational vehicle accidents

Most knee injuries are caused by intense impact to the knee area including the following:

ACL Injury – your ACL, or anterior cruciate ligament, is a crucial part of your knee that is usually torn or ruptured during a car accident, sporting accident or any other accident where intense impact hits the knee. An ACL injury will leave you in extreme, often crippling pain, which can impact your entire quality of life. You will most likely need surgery to recover from the problem and may still be facing a lifetime of chronic pain including arthritis, swelling and a complete loss of joint stability.

MCL Injury – the MCL or medial collateral ligament can be torn in a number of ways, resulting in three grades of tearing. Grade 1 tearing will take about 2 weeks to recover while Grade 3 tearing will take 4 months and usually involves surgery.

PCL Injury – the PCL, or posterior cruciate ligament is another knee ligament that is usually affected during a sudden blow to the knee. Like the MCL, there are three grades of tearing.

In addition to the above, our lawyers are also experienced in cases involving meniscus tears, patella fractures, patellar tendon repair and reconstruction and chondromalacia.

His knowledge and litigation skill coupled with business manner, helped make the process easy and understandable. His analysis was thoughtful, honest and he explained complex concepts and procedures.
